	1. In All Her Glory

"Are you coming to Lindsay's art show?" Justin asked Brian as he perused the brochure highlighting her work.

"A gallery full of munchers? No thanks." Brian glanced over at the front cover of the brochure.

"It's celebrating The Love of Women," Justin sing-songed the title, swishing the booklet back and forth in Brian's line of sight.

"Wait, wait, gimme that for a second." Brian snatched the glossy paper from Justin's fingers. "Is that a painting of Melanie?"

Justin looked more closely. "Yeah," he laughed, "looks like it."

"She's naked."

"Yep."

"Christ!" Brian didn't bother to hide his full body shiver.

	2. Do the Hustle

Emmett twirled Debbie beneath his arm, losing his grip and sending her careening across the kitchen.

She laughed, slowing her momentum by grabbing onto Carl, leaving two flour hand prints on his shirt.

"I don't remember there being a twirl in the Hustle." Carl grinned as he steadied her.

"We're improvising," Emmett said breathlessly as he rolled out of the grapevine into the Travolta.

Just then, Michael and Ben arrived, handing off bottles of wine to Carl, watching the floor show with amusement. "What's going on here?"

Emmett and Debbie eagerly dragged them into the line dance.

"It's Disco, baby!"

	3. Justin's POV

You love him so much.

When he pisses all over your work, you don't know if you're more hurt, or more angry at the disrespect.

Michael says Brian loves you and he should know, shouldn't he? He's known Brian a lot longer than you have. But still, Brian's actions belie Michael's words.

When he said he had gotten you a birthday present, you were so excited. When you saw it was a hustler, you felt another little piece of you die. It's not that Brian doesn't understand; it's almost that he _wants_ to hurt you. After all, he's said it over and over again "It's not that I can't, it's that I _won't_" And doesn't that hurt worse? At least if he weren't capable of loving gestures, you could fool yourself that he would if only he could. If only.

A week in Vermont, at Brian's suggestion. Your heart leaps. Yet again. It wasn't that he had to cancel on you, you're not a child, these things happen. It was that he didn't seem to care, and made you feel bad because you did.

It's no wonder your heart was ripe for the picking when Ethan came along.
